Class Happenings

Hello Everyone!!

We have been busy the past few weeks with finishing up a few of our units! The students have been working really hard with their personal narratives. This week we will be wrapping up with our final edits and will be sharing them next week. We have also finished our medieval unit in reading. As a final project, the students have been working in small groups to create a movie trailer for the book that they read. These will be shared on the school’s library site!! I will let you know when the final product is complete and uploaded so you can take a look!!

We have a couple of new things going on as LSS and in our classroom. The school is now on Twitter and so is our classroom! You can follow the school at @ExeterLSS and the classroom is @MrsJenkins5LSS. Our class Twitter page is a work in progress. I will occasionally share some of the things we are working on during the day or week and any upcoming events! I’m also thinking about having the students Tweet from their point of view things that are happening in the classroom!! So, please look for us and other teachers from LSS on Twitter!!!

On Monday we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a fun Valentine’s Day STEM Activity and will be exchanging Valentine’s Cards during snack. Please make sure that your child has a Valentine for each of the students in the class.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call of email me!

          Thanks,

Mrs. Jenkins

February 9, 2016

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

I hope that you all enjoyed your long weekend and got a chance to play in the snow! With the recent snow days, we haven't been able to put a lot of thought into a Valentine's Day party. This morning we decided to celebrate on Monday, February 15th! We will do a Valentine's STEM Activity and exchange Valentine's during snack. So please make sure that you bring in a Valentine for each of your classmates.
Today in class we started our Book Trailers for our Medieval Unit in reading. What are some things that made your book stand out? What are some things you think a reader would want to know about this book? Tomorrow we will continue writing a script for our trailers.
As most of you know Lincoln Street School is now on Twitter and so is our classroom! Please follow us at @MrsJenkins5LSS .

Tonight's Homework:
